Meet the Instructors

  • Anna Robertshaw

My yoga journey (mirroring life) has been rich with experience. Learning, peaks and troughs, joy, sadness, fast forwards and slow mo. Injuries, achievements, freedom, frustrations, liberation and pain. Yoga has been a part of my life, then fallen away but it has always come back to me…always.

Yoga is such a loaded word these days – it means so many things to so many people. To me, first and foremost it is a physical practice, a gateway, rooted firmly in attention to breathing practices, awareness of movement and focussing attention in ‘being’ and existing, which starts on the mat then slowly, in time, can ebb into every-day life.

At a time when there is a sense of more segmentation, isolation, disempowerment. We can create space for our bodies, building better relationships with these incredible instruments that carry us through our lives, learning to self regulate, learning how to tune into what we most need to create a more balanced, healthy, communicative & responsive body.

Yoga supports and nurtures, it anchors into a place of deep knowing, an intuitive voice that the physical body and its interweaving layers light up to. Yoga is a wisdom. I have trained with the very physical schools in my journey of handstands / balances and strength, to movement, to anatomy, to pranayama, to psoas, to meditation, to reiki, to hot yoga, to hatha and back…in this spiral of creation which amalgamates in presenting my unique depiction. Let’s call it an ‘Anna Pot’ of all the best bits I have studied, guaged & absorbed along the way. All the sweet bits & hopefully transmuting the not so sweet.

I completed my foundation with BWY and received my SYT with Yoga Alliance in 2021.

I have worked with and been strongly influenced by Liz Koch, Ana Forrest, Philip Xerri, Angela Farmer, Liz Lark and Jean Hall.

I can’t wait to work with you, to guide you & I’m certain we’ll learn a lot from each other along the way of this incredible journey you are potentially choosing in deepening your journey with this beautiful modality.

  • Charlotte Azurdia

Charlotte’s yoga classes are creative yet alignment-based focusing on a journey of self-enquiry to achieve a balance between flexibility and strength, not only on a physical but also on a mental level. She is a life-time learner and having qualified as a yoga teacher in 2017 she has continued to study and be inspired by a whole range of teachers and yoga styles.

She received in 2023 her RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance following her completion of an additional 300h training with the Shala in London where she delved deeper into yin yoga, yoga nidra as well as yoga philosophy, pranayama, theming, meditation and mindfulness. The flame for ongoing learning was sparked by Jason Crandell when she enrolled on his sequencing training in the US in 2019. She recently qualified to teach Bionic breathwork, a style of breathwork which always fascinated her.

Her classes are rewarding as she takes her students on an explorative journey allowing them to delve deeper into their practice whilst interweaving sprinkles of slower and more soothing yin style poses and breathwork into her students’ lives to allow them find greater stillness and calm in the mind.

  • Abir Hamza-Goodacre

Abir is an experienced yoga teacher (500hr YTT). She gained her yoga certifications through YogaWorks and SmartFLOW Yoga (California, USA) and brings a fresh and soulful approach to her yoga classes, incorporating a creative sequence of asanas, yoga philosophy and breath work. Her teaching style is grounded in both modern anatomy and classical yoga philosophy to create awareness and strength in the body, focus and curiosity in the mind, as well as a sense of presence and kindness.

Her approach aims to inspire students to commit to the journey of yoga, which does not necessarily have an end point and is not focused on perfection. Rather, working with movement principles as a means of instructing asana creates an atmosphere of exploration and self-inquiry as students are guided along a continuum of movement away from centre, and the return to centre. Yoga practice becomes a means of exploring and knowing oneself.

Abir is also a Registered Nutritional Therapist and has always been interested in and attuned to the interconnectedness of physical, emotional and spiritual health as a means to living fully as an individual and as part of the wider community.
